These stories are fiction
Every story published on Noctale is a work of fiction. The events, people, organisations and institutions described in them did not happen and do not exist. Nothing on this site is reportage, testimony, or an account of a real incident, even where a story is written in the first person and presented as something that happened to the narrator.
About the place names
Some stories are set in real countries, regions and cities, and use the textures of real working life — postal centres, night shifts, municipal registers, local ordinances. This is a choice of setting, not a claim about those places. Any resemblance between a story and an actual person, business, address, or event is coincidental.
Where a story invents a town, a company or a family name, it is invented. Where it borrows a real one, the things said to happen there are still invented.
How these stories are made
The stories are written by an AI system. Before publication each one passes automated checks for structural repetition against previously published work, for stock horror phrasing, and for prose that reads as machine-generated. A story that fails those checks is not published.
These checks are about craft, not truth. They do not make a story factual, and they are not a substitute for editorial judgement. We disclose the method because readers deserve to know how what they are reading came to exist.

Nothing on this site is medical, legal, psychological or safety advice. Stories may describe dangerous, unlawful or self-destructive behaviour as part of a narrative. They are not instructions and are not endorsements.
